Phase Engineering was founded to bring clarity, reliability, and real engineering expertise to electrical safety and system design. We started it after watching too many companies struggle with inconsistent studies, unclear reports, and confusing compliance requirements.
We provide arc flash studies, coordination studies, short circuit analysis, NFPA 70E consulting, and full electrical design for projects of all sizes — whether you are upgrading equipment, planning new construction, or improving electrical safety.
Good engineering should reduce risk, improve reliability, and give you confidence in your electrical system. That is the standard we bring to every project.
How we work differently
Data collection is the major hurdle on nearly every arc flash project, and the most common place studies go wrong. Frequently the correct system information never gets gathered, because field work was handed to electricians who were never told what the engineer needs.
Phase Engineering always sends a P.E. Electrical Engineer to gather data, with an electrician as support to open panel covers. The engineer who has to defend the model gathers its inputs.
Our team
Jaime Arellano, P.E.
Licensed Electrical Engineer with over 10 years of specialized experience in electrical system design, power system modeling, and arc flash hazard analysis. His background includes developing engineered solutions for complex electrical infrastructures, performing detailed short circuit and coordination studies, and guiding organizations through NFPA 70E compliance. Jaime's work is grounded in rigorous engineering methodology, modern analysis tools, and a commitment to delivering results that improve both safety and operational performance.
Hugo Rodriguez, P.E.
Licensed Electrical Engineer with over 8 years of specialized experience in electrical design, power distribution planning, and arc flash hazard analysis. His career has centered on developing safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities across California and Texas. Hugo's design work spans new construction, system upgrades, equipment replacements, and complex infrastructure improvements, giving him a deep understanding of how real electrical systems operate from concept through commissioning.
Jorge Salazar
Senior Project Manager with more than 9 years of experience leading complex projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure environments. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Management, giving him a strong foundation in organizational leadership, operations, and strategic planning. That combination of business expertise and hands-on project management lets Jorge bridge technical execution and client-focused delivery.
Where we work
Based in Visalia, California, serving facilities throughout the state. See work our engineers have led on the projects page.
Talk to the engineer who does the work
No sales team. You speak directly with a California licensed Professional Engineer about your equipment, your schedule, and what the study will actually cost.
